Events & Calendar

The Events page is your motorsport event calendar. Browse upcoming track days, HPDEs, autocross events, clinics, and social gatherings -- including shared photo albums -- without connecting a MotorsportReg account. Navigate to Events in the sidebar (under Track days) to open it.

My season

Choose My season from the ⋯ menu in the Events header to see your saved events, active registrations, and Track Days together for a selected year. Use Previous year and Next year to move through your history, then filter by stage:

• Interested means you bookmarked an event. A bookmark alone never means you registered.
• Registered means TrackOut has an active personal MotorsportReg registration. A bookmarked event moves here after registration.
• Planned means you added a Track Day without an active MotorsportReg registration. A past plan with no logged sessions stays Planned; the calendar date alone does not prove you attended.
• Completed means a past Track Day has at least one logged session. It links to the Track Day, where you can review the sessions.

Withdrawn and organizer-cancelled events are excluded unless a Track Day already has logged sessions. A registered event links to its event or Track Day page; manual and completed days link directly to their Track Day. The season view uses your local calendar day for Track Days synced from timed MotorsportReg events.

MotorsportReg integration

Events are powered by a MotorsportReg integration that syncs organization calendars into a shared TrackOut catalog. You do not need to link MotorsportReg to browse events or open their photo galleries. Connecting your account (see Getting Started) unlocks personal sync:

• Organization events -- Public events from clubs and organizations in the shared catalog (e.g., NASA, SCCA chapters, PCA regions). Available to every signed-in user; when you connect MotorsportReg, Explore defaults to organizations you follow.
• Your registrations -- Events you have personally registered for on MotorsportReg. These are flagged with a "Registered" badge, "Waitlisted" badge, or cancellation state as appropriate.

For a multi-day event, Choose your days in its registered row's ⋯ menu opens Your days at that event. Tick the dates you registered for and Save days -- at least one day is required. The row then reads Your days, and personal views -- the Registered list, Garage, Track Days, weather emails, and reminders -- follow only those dates, even if they are not consecutive. The Events catalog still lists the organizer's full weekend. A one-day registration uses its event date automatically. If you have not chosen yet, the row says Event dates and Your days are not confirmed. Use Edit your days to change the selection. If the organizer changes the event dates, choose your days again. This selection is stored in TrackOut; it does not change your MotorsportReg registration. When the next sync sees a weekend that is now a single day, the extra day drops from the catalog, your registration, and the linked Track Day.

Events imported from your personal MotorsportReg registrations stay private to your account. An event appears in shared discovery only when MotorsportReg's public organization calendar lists it, or when someone creates a community event in TrackOut. Your registration status and private event details are not published to other users. Linked Track Days and your attendance choices stay with your registration when its catalog record is refreshed.

The sync runs in the background when you open the Events page. If you have registered for the same event many times over the years, TrackOut keeps the current registration and any Track Day you already linked, instead of stalling. If an event appears in both your registrations and the organization calendar, it is merged into a single entry with your personal registration status applied. If you cancel a registration in MotorsportReg, if an organizer declines or deletes your entry, or if an upcoming registration disappears from MotorsportReg's feed, the next trusted full sync updates the event in TrackOut to reflect the cancellation -- the "Registered" badge is removed, the row no longer appears under the Registered filter, and any empty auto-created track day is cleaned up. A daily background sync also checks for dropped upcoming cancellations.

After an event you attended ends, MotorsportReg drops it from your feed. TrackOut no longer treats that as a withdrawal, so the row does not flip to Withdrew.

Importing past events

MotorsportReg's regular feed only lists events that haven't run yet, so connecting a long-standing account brings in your upcoming registrations but none of your history. Right after you connect, TrackOut asks Import your past events? Choose Import past events to bring in the events you've already run, or Not now to skip it. You can change the choice any time with Sync past events on the MotorsportReg card in Settings -> Integrations.

While Sync past events is on, each sync adds any past MotorsportReg event that isn't in TrackOut yet, each with a track day you can log sessions against. Events already in TrackOut are left as they are, including ones you marked cancelled. Turning the setting off stops future imports and keeps what was already imported. MotorsportReg's history doesn't say whether you attended, so a past event you withdrew from may also appear. TrackOut imports up to 400 registrations in total, newest first.

If the organizer cancels an event while you are still registered, TrackOut shows the row as cancelled instead of treating it as a live registration. Declined and deleted MotorsportReg entries are also shown as cancelled in TrackOut, because they all mean you are no longer attending.

When MotorsportReg keeps a cancelled registration visible

MotorsportReg's API sometimes keeps an inactive registration in your event list, so the auto-detection above can't always tell what's still active. For those cases, every registered row has a ⋯ menu on the right side:

• Mark as cancelled -- Removes the "Registered" badge in TrackOut and cleans up any empty auto-created track day. Use this when you cancelled the registration in MotorsportReg but TrackOut still shows it as registered.
• Re-register -- Available after you mark a row cancelled. Flips the row back to registered and re-creates the auto track day. On Track Days the same restore is labeled Re-enroll, and it also appears when you withdrew from MotorsportReg and the event is still on. Neither action re-submits enrollment to MotorsportReg.

The manual mark is preserved across syncs: a routine sync that still sees the event in your list will not undo your action. As with auto-detection, a track day with user-authored data (sessions, notes, an assigned car) is preserved -- only empty placeholders are cleaned up.

Cars and run groups for registered events

Registered events can be connected to the car you plan to drive. Assign or change the car from the linked track day detail page; the selected car stays in sync between Events and Track Days. Changing the car on a multi-day registration keeps the days you already confirmed -- the Track Day does not grow back to the organizer's full weekend.

In Settings -> Driver profile, each MotorsportReg organization can also have a preferred run group. Pick from the suggested list, choose Instructor or Free Form, or type a custom value. TrackOut can learn additional run groups from schedules you upload and link to that organizer, so the picker gets more useful over time.

Readiness and recaps

Registered events that are tied to a car can power Track Readiness: the car readiness panel, pre-event check walkthrough, readiness reminder email, and post-event recap all use the event context.

Prep for a registered event lives on My Track Days: each upcoming card shows Readiness N / 5 and the event's Track Day Prep checklist progress, and Open checklist takes you to that list on the Checklists page.

After an event, open the track day and use Close the day to record how the car felt, any unusual notes, tread depth, pad thickness, and total spend. This keeps the event record useful after the calendar date has passed.

Community events

Click Add event on the Events page to create a community event -- a shared event album that any signed-in TrackOut user can upload photos to. Use these for informal track days, shop visits, or meetups that are not listed on MotorsportReg.

Community events appear in the calendar alongside MSR events and have their own detail pages with a photo gallery. The creator can edit or delete the event from its detail page. See Event Photos for upload, visibility, and claiming details.

Share an event album

On any event detail page, click Share to copy a durable TrackOut link (or use your phone's share sheet) and send it to friends at the event. Share links look like /e/… and stay stable for that event — they are not tied to temporary page ids. Anyone signed into TrackOut can open the link, view the album, and upload photos. After you create a community event, TrackOut opens this share sheet automatically so you can invite people right away.

Public photos appear in the shared gallery; private photos stay with the uploader. See Event Photos for visibility details.

The catalog

Events opens on a table of upcoming events, soonest first. Each row shows:

• Date -- A date tile with the first day.
• Event -- The event name (open it for its page, photos, and bookmark), then its days and distance, for example Sat–Sun · 72 mi.
• Organizer -- The club or group hosting it.
• Status -- Registered, On waitlist, or Cancelled for your registrations, or Closed when registration is closed. MotorsportReg does not share how many spots are left, so open events show no status.
• Action -- In My Track Days for an event you are registered for (it opens the matching track day, or reads No track day yet until TrackOut has made one); nothing for a cancelled or closed event; Register otherwise, which opens the event's registration page in a new tab.

Registered rows also have a ⋯ menu with Choose your days / Edit your days for multi-day events, and Mark as cancelled / Re-register (described above).

TrackOut does not show event prices. On events from MotorsportReg, Price on MotorsportReg under Register is a reminder that the price is on the registration page.

Search and filters

• Track or organizer -- Filters the table live as you type, matching the event name, organizer, venue, and city. Suggestions appear under the field for event types, organizations, and tracks; picking one applies it as a filter (picking a value that is already one of several narrows to just it).
• Within -- How far the track may be from your home ZIP: 100 to 1,000 miles, or Any distance. Use Set home ZIP… (or Change home ZIP…) in the same menu to save your ZIP (the pill says so if it isn't a valid ZIP); it starts at 300 miles once set. Events whose track is not in TrackOut's track catalog are measured from the venue's city and region instead, once it has been looked up; an event with no venue location has no distance and drops out while a radius is on. Distances follow your distance unit in Settings.
• When -- This month, Next 3 months (the default), Rest of season, or Any time. The ‹ and › beside it move a one- or three-month window by a month at a time, so you can step through the calendar (for example Nov 2026 or Dec 2026 – Feb 2027).
• Group -- Shown once you have saved a run group for an organization (in Settings, or from a schedule). Pick a group to see only events at organizations where you run in it.
• Type, Organization, Track -- Each pill opens a checklist of the values seen in the events you have browsed, with how many events match, a search box for long lists, Select All, and Clear. The pill shows All, the one value you picked, or how many are selected. When MotorsportReg is connected, Organization starts with the organizations you follow, with View all organizations to widen it; clearing every organization (or Clear filters) widens it too, so All always means every organization.
• Clear filters -- Appears once you change any of the above or turn on a toggle in the ⋯ menu, and resets them all, including the Type, Organization, and Track picks. Use Your organizations only in the ⋯ menu to narrow back to the organizations you follow.

The ⋯ menu in the header holds My season, Add event, and the list toggles:

• Registered only -- Events with an active registration, including waitlisted entries.
• Bookmarked only -- Events you bookmarked from their event page.
• Events with photos -- Events with at least one public photo, including past ones (the When window doesn't apply), with Load more events at the bottom.
• Show cancelled events -- Includes cancelled events.
• Your organizations only / All organizations -- When MotorsportReg is connected, the list starts with the organizations you follow.

Weekly activity digest

If you receive the weekly TrackOut activity digest, upcoming track day rows include the event date, track, organizer when known, and available weather. Click a track day from the email to open the matching page in TrackOut.

If you are signed out, TrackOut asks you to sign in and then returns you to the event link you opened.

Empty states

• No events match -- Nothing fits the current search, distance, and window. Widen the window or distance, or clear the filters.
• No registered events in this window -- The Registered only toggle is on and none fall in the When window.
